Mangrove Adoption Program
MAP stands for the adoption of mangroves as a solution to solve ecological, economic and social issues pertaining to coastal ecosystem degradation. Our project aims to restore mangrove ecosystems in order to build climate-change ready, healthy and resilient coastal ecosystems which will buffer coastal communities from extreme weather and other climate events. By harnessing the power of community, environmental expertise, and innovative techniques, we are committed to revitalizing degraded mangrove areas to create resilient coastal habitats and communities. Our approach involves not only planting stock, but also raising awareness about the importance of these invaluable ecosystems while promoting sustainable coastal management practices and activities. Our efforts will enhance biodiversity, protect fisheries, and mitigate climate change by sequestering carbon dioxide. Moreover, we strive to empower local communities, providing them with sustainable livelihood opportunities & coaching, food security and safeguarding traditional knowledge, food systems and culture.
